TOWN OF HOLDEN
ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
HEARING
Douglas & Maryann Jardine Case No.V 0903
The Zoning Board of Appeals held a public hearing on June 4, 2009 at 7:15 p.m. in Memorial Hall, 1196 Main Street, Holden, MA on the petition of Douglas & Maryann Jardine for property located at 167 Parker Avenue for a Variance for relief from the front setback requirements to build a farmers porch.
Members of the Board in attendance: Ronald Spakauskas, Silvio Annunziata, Roy Fraser, Jim Deignan and R. Oslebo.
The Chairman called the meeting to order. Since there were no objections, the reading of the application and findings of fact was waived. The secretary read one letter pertaining to the case which was received from Pamela Harding, Zoning Administrator.
The applicant addressed the Board. Mr. Jardine explained that his roof was damaged by the December ice storm and a new roof is needed. Therefore, he would like to have a farmers porch put on at the same time, which would help with any future ice build-up.
S. Annunziata asked if there was currently a porch on the house. Mr. Jardine said there is only a small one and that will be removed.
Since there were no further comments or questions, the public hearing was officially closed at 7:45 p.m.
The Board voted unanimously to grant the variance with the following conditions: 1) The present porch will be removed and replaced with a 6 ft. x 28 ft. porch and 2) The northwest corner of the porch shall be no less than 25 feet from Parker Avenue +/- one (1) foot.
